Jacobinte Swargarajyam has a soul of its own.

Cast : Renji Panicker , Lakshmy Ramakrishnan , Nivin Pauly , Sreenath Bhasi , Aima Sebastian , Stacen.

Direction : Vineeth Sreenivasan .

Plot : Jacobinte Swargaraajyam is about Jacob and his family . Jacob is a wealthy business man settled in Dubai . He suffers some setbacks due to certain issues as a result of which , his investors lose money. This movie is about the steps taken by the family to overcome the financial problems they are facing .

My view : A collaboration between Vineeth and Nivin Pauly is always one that a lot of people look out for . Jacobnte Swargaraajyam is based on a true story and that is precisely why it is realistic and relatable . The same names as in the true story have been maintained in the movie . There are so many Jacob’s around us and this movie will remind you of at least that one ‘Jacob’ you know . Vineeth Sreenivasan uses the first hour in establishing the premises of the movie . Jacob gives pep talks to his son , Jerry, with whom he shares a special bond . He holds on to his positivity and never-say-die attitude ,even in the midst of financial problems . Renji Panicker has given life to the titular role of Jacob and is lovable .Lakshmy Ramakrishnan as Sherly is a woman of steel,a woman who is determined to get her family out of the trouble it is facing . I liked her transition from the stay at home, home maker to the determined woman with a mission. Nivin Pauly as Jerry is the boy next door, who loves his family more than anything else . He has kept his heroism aside to be the son and brother many would want to have. Watch out for the scene where he supports Abin to beat up one of their neighbors . I liked the bond shared between the family members , and especially the one between Jacob and Jerry. The other three siblings have also acted well. Stacen as Chris lends to the cuteness factor of the movie and handles comedy with ease .Sreenath Bhasi as Abin is aloof and maintains low energy .Aima Sebastian as Ammu and Reba John as Chippy, dont have much of a screen presence as they spend most of their time in India during the period of crisis. The movie has situational humor, as a result of which the movie doesn’t turn out to be too serious to watch. TG Ravi , Sai kumar  and Dinesh Prabhakar, have lend authenticity to the story with sincere performances . Ashwin as Murali Menon cannot be called the antagonist   ,though he evoked fear each time he came on screen , as he too had his share of problems.Another aspect I liked is that the characters hardly poke fun of the living conditions in India, like many other movies that are shot abroad. All of them are very much malayalees at heart.Jacobinte Swargaraajyam has a soul of its own. It is emotional , inspirational and will evoke laughter and tears in you , along with the actors on screen . Jacobinte Swargaraajyam is not to be missed for its sincere story , performance and direction. Catch it on the big screen nearest to you.
