Kasaba is mollywood’s Dabbang.

Cast : Mammooty , Varalakshmi , Siddique , Jagadeesh.

Direction : Nithin Renji Panicker.

Plot : The IG’s son is killed in a Maoist attack on the border of Kerala . Rajan Zachariah(Mammooty) takes upon the investigation of this case , due to personal interests.b

My views : Kasaba is a masala potboiler with nothing new to offer . Rajan Zac comes to Kaalipuram on the border of Kerala and Karnataka, to find out the truth behind the death of his boss’s son and fiancé .The town is apparently ruled by Nambiar , even the cops stoop to him.He even runs a brothel with Kamala(Varalakshmi) , who manages it.Everybody seems to be fine with the arrangment and nobody questions it , till Rajan Zachariah arrives.

The movie has less of investigation and more of one man show . With a striking resemblance to Robinhood Pandey of Dabbang , Rajan Zac single handedly beats up goons, takes on the villain and is a saviour of women . He has tried a levitated style of walking in this one.

Varalakshmi as Kamala looks like an angry kid with a bloated face , trying to mouth dialogues in anger .She is daring while Rajan Zachariah is fearless. Maqbool Salman is brick faced , delivering dialogues with zero panache . Jagadeesh had made a caricature of himself . The movie is colorful with a tamil touch to it . Kasaba is strictly for Mammooty fans.Watch Kasaba only if you have nothing interesting to do .
