Oozham could explode your brains .

Cast : Prithviraj Sukumaran , Neeraj Madhav , V Jayachander , Divya Pillai , Bombs , bombs and bombs .

Direction
: Jeethu Joseph .

Plot
: Soorya (Prithviraj) is on a 20 day vacation to Coimbatore , to spend time with his family . Shortly after he returns to the US , his family is murdered , which he happens to watch over Skype . The remaining story is how he manages to nail down the culprits , thereby taking revenge on them.

My views : I have always liked the combination of Prithviraj and Jeethu Joseph . This is the driving reason behind me watching oozham today .

Oozham is a revenge drama . It is set in Coimbatore and chennai . The languages used in the movie is in the order of English , Tamil and Malayalam .

The basic plot of the movie is not a new one . We have had lot of revenge dramas in the past and this one just adds to the list . I liked the bonding between the family . I cannot not help ruling out the similarities between oozham and puthiya mukham .

The movie oscillates between the present day scenario and the past , where the story takes place .

Prithviraj as Surya is a controlled explosion specialist , that’s the reason , why there is a lot of explosion happening in this movie . The antagonists get killed in explosions , but nothing happens to Surya , thanks to controlled explosion.

Neeraj Madhav as Aju , is Surya’s friend . He adds on to Surya’s character . He brings in the comedy element .He is a software engineer turned hacker , who quit his high paying job to follow his passion of hacking .

He along with Prithviraj are the saviours of Oozham.

V Jayachander as Wilfred Marquez , the antagonist , is a deadly villain , who wears crisp white kurtas and speaks crisp English. He prefers dealing with his opponents by himself and has full control over his business , employees and sons . Speaking of his sons , the youngest Andrew Wilfred is a terrible pick and comes across as irritating.

The elder one ,Edward Wilfred , is better in terms of acting , but scenes where he cries looks comical on screen .

Balachandran Menon appears in a supposedly friendly experience , though he is present in the first half of the movie , in full length . He is a workaholic health inspector who is very committed to his job , that taking a days leave is unthinkable for him .

The heroine looks totally washed out and tired . And she should definitely go to an acting school and get a better costume designer .

In between all this , there is the Tamil Nadu police who are shown once in a while to remind the viewers that the police is also investigating the case . They are seen in Coimbatore and chennai simultaneously .

Of the songs , I liked thirike varumo kaliyum chiriyum. It is beautifully picturised . By the way , there is also a Hindi song in movie, which is played in a night club . Don’t miss watching Prithviraj walking around the nightclub in Rayban glasses.
This is definitely the worst movie of Jeethu Joseph . I doubt if Oozham will even appeal to the local masses because of the heavy usage of the English language .Maybe he made it with the multiplex crowd in mind .Watch this at your own risk .
