June has been on my watchlist ever since the movie’s poster was released.

June played by Rejisha Vijayan , is a single child , who is bubbly, with a happy go lucky attitude . The movie spans from the time when June is 16,to her late twenties . She lives life on her own terms . Coming from a closely knit family,she is exceptionally close to her father.

Noel , played by Sarjon Khalid , who is June ‘a first love , prefers living life which is preset for him by his father .

Jojo George , who is June’s father is a friend to her , and is someone with whom she can discuss anything fearlessly. He is a source of support for her .

The movie is a coming of age movie . What makes it different is that , it’s about June , a girl. While there have been numerous movies with the same theme, this one’s about a girl.

This is a movie , which most girls will be able to relate to . At 16, June lives in a fantasy world,where Suresh aka Suresh Gopi, is her saviour in times of trouble .

Just like many of us, June is brought up in an environment with the freedom to do ‘anything’ without crossing certain boundaries . Life gets stricter for June when limits are crossed.

I liked the school scenes, especially those after school hours . They invoked a lot of nostalgia , especially those in the bakery . I liked the camaraderie,between motachi and June .

Sunny Wayne’s cameo as Alex is apt .

The first half is exceptionally funny and had me in splits . The climax is an emotional one .

June is a movie which stays on track , and doesn’t detour . When malayalam movies are going places , this is one of those movies , that should not be missed .
