My views:Jomonte Suvisheshangal has a plot that has been tried and tested too many times.The plot has a striking similarity to jacobinte swargaraajyam.While jacobinte swargaraajyam was set in Dubai,jomonte suvisheshangal is set in our own india.Jacobinte swargarajyam has the father going to Libya,while Libya is replaced with tiripur here.
Dulquer as Jomon the spoilt brat has handled humour well.He finds fun in everything he does,even if it is being punished.I liked the scene in the bus,where he gets goosebumps when he is between girls.Jomon T Vincent is smart and can change situations in favour of him.I found the carefree and funny Jomon more loveable than Krishnan of Kammatipaadam and Siddharth of Kali.
Mukesh as Vincent is a revelation to watch.Vincent is a man who has been made tough by circumstances.Vincent also goes through a transformation where he realizes money is not everything.
Vincent and Jomon stand fearless and cheerful,in front of adversity.
I liked the father son chemistry.
I found the first half much better than the second half.The first half is light and loaded with humour.The second half is set in Tirupur,it is lengthy and directionless.
Anupama Parameswaran as Catherine is limited to 5 scenes and a song.
The movie does not explore new territory and deals with supporting characters who ditch in times of need and the wayward child who takes the family forward.
However,jomonte suvisheshangal is not completely avoidable.i would suggest you to watch it for some light hearted banter in the first half and for the emotional father son relationship.
